Set for Success Sunday
Quote I am Loving:
“New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings.” – Lao Tzu
This is such a true statement. So many times something difficult or tragic happens in our lives and we only focus on the now, on the heartache, the hardship and the difficulty of getting through. I like this quote because it reminds us that although it may be painful now, a new beginning or opportunity is coming.
When difficult situations arise try your best to remember to look at the whole picture. How can you grow from this experience? What kind of good can you get out of it?
Body Maintenance I am Doing:
Since it’s summer and its been beautiful here in upstate NY I am trying to get outside as often as possible and get my Vitamin D from the sun instead of a supplement.
So many people are vitamin D deficient because people are nervous about going out in the sun. Amounts of vitamin D in your body have direct affects on your biological function. Small amounts of sun exposure is actually really good for you, so get outside and get some sun!
Habit I am Forming:
I have been talking to a lot of people lately about sugar intake and have been trying to monitor my own sugar intake as I know I am addicted to it. These days sugar is in almost everything, so you really need to read labels carefully and make most of your own food if you want to limit the sugar you are eating.
I am trying my best to get my sugar from natural sources (mostly fruit and vegetables) and a little from the local honey I use daily.
If you want to learn more about sugar and missed my blog this week be sure to check it out here!
Food I am Eating:
I enjoy eating good healthy fats and a staple in my diet has become KerryGold Irish Butter. Their butter is high quality, made from grass fed cows. Its absolutely delicious and is good for you! You can find it right at Wegmans. After eating Kerrygold for so long, I can’t imagine eating any other kind of butter.
