May Member of The Month – Jared Terrore

Jared Terrore has been a consistent part of the 7:30am class for almost a year. We wanted to acknowledge him for his hard work day in and day out. He has made some impressive progress over the months by showing up and getting the work done. If you are looking for an example of creating effective an healthy habits, look no further.

Q: How long have you been a member and how long have you been doing CrossFit?
A: 6 months for both.

Q: What is your favorite thing about the gym?
A: There is a nice sense of community here, and along with that the coaches really care about the members. The time spent on proper form, technique and injury prevention is very much appreciated. People will joke with me that CrossFitters have sloppy form, I have to stop them and say BoomTown is not like that.

Q: What is the biggest challenge you have overcome since joining the gym?
A: Getting out of bed to get to class 😉

Q: What is your favorite moment at the gym so far?
A: When I got a “popped your RX cherry” commemorative plate after the open. It’s still on my fridge Lol

Q: What’s your favorite “cheat” food?
A: Hands down a bacon cheese burger with sweet potato fries. 

Q: What’s your Favorite activity outside the gym?
A: Hiking, and photography.

Q: What would you say to someone who is thinking about starting?
A: Totally worth it, once you get through a workout the rest of the day seems easy in comparison.

Q: What drives you?
A: I think of exercise as medicine, it affects everything in my life. I feel happier, have more energy, and my mind is clearer since I started. Also, seeing the incremental improvements in my performance has amazed me, at 38 I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m excited to see what another 6 months brings. 

Q: Which coach do you like to beat in workouts?
A: It hasn’t happened yet, I’d be happy if I beat any one of them 😉

Q: What is you biggest fitness goal right now?
A: I want to master double-unders, and kipping pull-ups.
